According to TMZ, an arrest warrant was issued for the 65-year-old after he allegedly assaulted a woman back in September. Officers told the outlet the incident occurred at the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena on the night of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin match.

TMZ reports that the alleged attack went down after Mayweather Sr. and the women got into a verbal altercation in the venue’s parking lot; after the woman refused to get out of a vehicle, Mayweather Sr., allegedly pulled her from the car and punched her in the leg before speeding off. The victim was reportedly hospitalized with minor injuries. The former boxer is now facing a misdemeanor battery charge.

Following news of the arrest warrant, Mayweather Sr.’s representative publicly denied the allegations, insisting the woman was “trying to extort money and she's angry because she's not getting the money from Floyd. It's not going the way she wants it to go.” Stay tuned as the story unfolds.

After retiring from boxing nearly three decades ago, Mayweather Sr. went on to train legendary boxers Oscar De La Hoya and his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr. In 1993, he was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted on a drug trafficking charge, but served only three.
