Last week, Ronda Rousey did an interview with Maxim and revealed the one thing all guys should do in bed.

“Take his time,” she said. “In general, a girl takes a minute. You should never need lube in your life. If you need lube, then you’re being lazy.”

Seems practical enough, right? Or at least, it doesn’t seem like something that would get people up in arms. But guess what? Folks found a way to get offended by it.

Apparently, a lot of people called Rousey out for “lube shaming” and entire articles were written about how Rousey had no right to tell other people how to have sex. The Maxim piece got such a strong reaction that Rousey kicked off the first episode of the UFC 193 Embedded series by addressing those who were upset about what she said. In her mind, she didn’t do anything wrong by “lube shaming.”

“Lube shaming!” she said. “I don’t know, apparently it’s a thing. All I said was, if you need lube, you’re lazy, you know? Women everywhere are gonna thank me for their guys putting in a little more effort and not just going to the store for a shortcut...If you need some artificial material, you’re not doing your job right. How did our ancestors do it? I’m just saying, what’s the rush? Where’s the fire? Why the lube? I was asked a question—what are you not into? I’m like, 'Get your lube away from me. If you need lube, you’re not the dude.’ That’s the next catchphrase.”

As you can see in the clip above, the conversation continued for quite some time, too. Rousey was clearly upset with the reaction that her well-intentioned advice received.

"I’m sorry," she said. "I thought I was doing all the girls a favor making sure that all the guys put in some effort. But it sounded like some gritty kitty bitches are really fucking mad at me. I’m like, ‘It’s not my fault you’re working with a sandbox.’”
