When Johnny Manziel gave the middle finger to the Redskins sideline last night, we assumed it was because someone on the 'Skins said something disrespectful to him. Manziel himself alluded to the fact that "words were exchanged" between him and several Redskins players just prior to him flipping the bird during his post-game press conference.

But now we know exactly—or almost exactly—what was said to Manziel that made him so angry, thanks to Redskins safety Ryan Clark who made an appearance on ESPN's Mike & Mike in the Morning earlier today. And truthfully, what was said to Manziel wasn't that bad.

"I can tell you what the statement was that set him off," Clark said. "The statement was…'This isn't college anymore and these people are faster than you are.' He didn't like it. That was me cleaning up the statement but that's pretty close to what it was."

That's it? Maybe Clark cleaned up the statement so much that it doesn't sound as disrespectful as it actually was. But if that is what set Manziel off, he's going to have a long season. Because guys are going to be coming at him from all angles this year and, if he's not careful, he's going to be flipping the bird every time he takes the field.
