With practice rounds teeing off today, golf's fourth and final major tournament, the PGA Championship, is underway in Valhalla, Kentucky.
Nike swooshes should be plentiful this week, as Nike will be sending thirteen golfers to Valhalla out of the maximum 156. As with any tournament in August, competitors will have to beat the heat in addition to their fellow golfers. To combat this, Nike is supplying all it's athletes with Dri-Fit fabrics in a color palette of hyper brights to keep athletes cool.
After pulling out of the final round of the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational just eight holes in, Tiger's status for the PGA Championship is very much in limbo. If the four-time PGA champion does happen to play, he will make ventilation his biggest priority. Each of Tiger's lightweight polos feature laser perforation to supply extra breathability. Tiger will open things up on Thursday in a Purple Haze-colored polo and will close things out wearing what else but Sunday Red.
Coming off a victory at the British Open, Rory McIlroy is employing the "If ain't broke, don't fix it" strategy at the PGA Championship. McIlory will don the same Nike Lightweight Innovation Color polo on Thursday and Sunday that he wore at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in hopes of making it two major championships in a row.
Scott Brown is looking to make his first career PGA Championship cut this week. To live up to this bold task, Brown will sport a collection of bold hues capped off by the Nike Victory Stripe polo on Sunday, you know, if he makes the cut.
Like Brown, Kevin Chappell will be looking to survive the cut for the first time at the PGA Championship. All of Chappell's outfits this weekend will be centered around the Nike Lunar Waverly, Nike's golf shoe for both on the course and off of it.
As the 2010 Collegiate player of the year at the University of Georgia, Russell Henley is no stranger to the southern heat. With the being said, Henley will look to stay cool in the solid Nike Ultra Polo 2.0 on Thursday and Saturday followed by striped shirts on Friday and Sunday.
Yellow is to Francesco Molinari as Red is to Tiger Woods. If it's Sunday, it means that Molinari will be wearing yellow and the PGA Championship is no different as he will sport a Yellow Nike Victory Polo on the tourney's final day.
It's already been a successful year for South Korea's Seung Yul Noh, as he captured his first career victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Zurich will look to make his second career victory a major one by wearing the Nike Ultra Stripe Polo on Sunday.
Always one to stand out on the course, Thorbjorn Olesen will be decked out in camouflage Thursday through Saturday. On Sunday, Olesen will tone things down by wearing his traditional Sunday green Nike Victory Polo.
Charl Schwartzel is no stranger to the major stage, as he took home the green jacket in 2011 at the Masters. Looking to add to his major resume, Schwartzel will rely on graphic heavy shirts like the Nike Innovation Speed Stripe Polo to get him through Valhalla's unrelenting heat.
With Purple Haze, Photo Blue and Volt all in his color palette, Nick Watney will look to make his game stand out as much as his wardrobe this weekend in Valhalla. Watney will sport the Nike Speed Print Polo on both Friday and Sunday in his efforts to capture his first major.
