Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe at Kohl's

Tom Sachs is continuing to make good on the pledge that his new NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe will be accessible. After an exclusive release of the initial “Studio” colorway, the yellow “Archive” make up is proving to be far more available, popping up at select retailers including a store that no one could have seen coming.

Yesterday, Kohl’s announced that the coveted collaboration was now available at select stores in the U.S. Unlike many of today’s in-store sneaker launches, the news came with no forewarning and was more akin to surprise drops of the yesteryear. “The NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe in the Archive colorway is available in select Kohl’s stores—today” reads the retailer’s Instagram post.

Various posts from social media show Kohl’s locations stocked with the collab alongside various budget-priced and takedown Nike models, a juxtaposition that’s usually only seen during rare come-ups at department stores like Marshalls

Retailing for $110, the “Archive” colorway of the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe is currently reselling for an average of around $200. As the resale margin is likely continue to dwindle with increased availability, this could be another stride towards Sachs’ goal democratizing the sneaker.
