Since its debut last December, the adidas NMD range has taken off in a way that few could've seen coming. It's led to chaotic queues, a seismic shift in the way we resell sneakers, and spawned a handful of spin-offs—all in just under six months. Ahead of tomorrow's latest U.S. releases, we're getting a detailed on-feet look at one of the most interesting NMD sneakers so far.
Dan Freebairn, the artist behind KickPosters, recently shared this clip of the NMD City Sock in action. These sneakers are cushioned with a full-length Boost midsole that's supported by the NMD's signature EVA plugs at the forefoot and heel. Up top is where things get really interesting, with a fully laceless Primeknit upper that boasts alternating linear patterns. Although it's not featured in this video, the upper also features a glow in the dark treatment.
These days, the word "futuristic" is thrown around pretty carelessly when it comes to sneakers, but it's rarely been more appropriate than it is here. The adidas NMD City Sock drops tomorrow, May 21, from adidas.com and select adidas Originals retailers alongside the NMD "Camo Pack."
