With two official collaborative releases having already taken place between Adidas and Hender Scheme, the duo has returned for Fall/Winter 2018 with premium variations of the ZX 500 runner.
In typical Hender Scheme fashion, the '80s runner is given a premium upgrade with genuine, vegetable-tanned leather and perforated Troil logos on the heel. This time around, the Japanese brand has handcrafted two separate versions. One will be feature a full leather upper, while the other combines two leathers, a mesh underlay, and pull-chord lacing system. The latter option will be offered in white or black-based colorways. The pairs will all naturally patina over time depending on how much they are worn. Unlike a lot of Hender Scheme's past work that is simply meant for style, both versions feature full-length Boost cushioning in the midsole.
To go along with the sneakers, the brands have also created a cap, shoe case, and tote bags to round out the lineup. The Hender Scheme x Adidas ZX 500 collection will be available on Nov. 24 from select Adidas retailers. The all leather pair retails at $300, while mesh options will go for $220 each—significantly less than what we are used to seeing sneakers from the Japanese brand go for. Accessories range from $40-$80.
