There are no two words that set off the hype alarms within the sneaker blogosphere more than Nike and Supreme in the same sentence. It all started in 2002 with the release of two pairs of Dunk Lows modeled after Air Jordans, and the connection between the two brands is going strong 13 years later. This is evidenced by a collection of five pairs of the Supreme x Nike SB GTS, which us set to release this Thursday, July 16, according to Supreme.

The New York City skate brand announced today that the five sneakers — white, red, black, yellow, and denim — would finally be seen at retail, and the selection of the GTS, the "Great Tennis Shoe," was by no accident. It actually has a rich skate history, just like Supreme.

According to Supreme's website, "The shoe was originally billed as an 'on court' and 'off court' shoe, but at the end of its seven-year run, the shoe was delegated to 'off court' use, where it was appropriated by skaters such as Guy Mariano, Pepe Martinez, and Drake Jones, earning its place in skateboard culture."

The retail price for each pair will be $88. The New York, London, and Los Angeles Supreme locations will stock the sneakers on Thursday, July 16, with a subsequent release on Saturday, July 18, in Japan. There will be an online release, too, on Supreme's website.

Don't do anything stupid like with the last couple Supreme x Nike sneaker releases.
