Paramount Pictures is preparing to roll out another Transformers film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is currently developing a stand-alone flick based on the Hasbro toy brand. Marco Ramirez, a showrunner and co-creator of The Defenders, has reportedly been tapped to write the script, while Angel Manuel Soto (Charm City Kings) is set to direct.

The film is said to be in the early stages, which means there are very little details about the storyline; However, THR reports the movie is considered a stand-alone project, as it won’t be tied to the previous Michael Bay installments or the Bumblebee flick. There’s also no word on who will produce the film or when it’s expected to premiere.

The news comes more than a year after Paramount announced it was developing two other Transformers films; one was to be written by James Vanderbilt (Scream 5) and the other by Joby Harold (Army of the Dead). Filmmaker Stephen Caple Jr. is attached to the latter project, which is expected to be released on June 24, 2022.

Stay tuned as more information about the new Transformers project becomes available.
