Anthony Anderson filmed an outrageous situation in which two strangers in New York City were able to give the actor and his newly purchased televisions—plural—a ride home.

In a video shared on his Instagram, Anderson explained how everything went down, while in the vehicle. “Saturday I walked to #bestbuy to get tv’s for my NYC apt and realized I had no way of getting them to my place,” he wrote in the caption. “This brother Alex was ahead of me in line so I asked if he would drive me to my place and he agreed. What he didn’t tell me was that he had someone in the car and that it was full of work equipment. But we made it work! Just another one for the books!”

In the clip, the Black-ish star showcases just how cramped the vehicle was after they loaded it up with their collective Best Buy haul, with three of them jammed into the little space that was left.

“Life and times of me. I have no idea who these people are but I’m driving their vehicle right now,” the 51-year-old said, moving the camera to show how the man who offered the lift had to sit on the lap of the woman who was waiting for him outside Best Buy.

“He offered to drive me home, but didn’t tell me he had a friend in the car. … That’s Alex and that’s Charm right there, and I’m driving they car. But not only am I driving their car, what y’all need to see is I’m driving but the car is in reverse. It’s in reverse! I was like, ‘Yo man it’s not moving when I start it.’ He said, ‘Oh no, you gotta put it in reverse.’”

At the end of the clip, he joked, “If I don’t make it back to the set of Law & Order, call the police!”

Anderson, who made his first appearance on Law & Order in 2018 during Season 18, returned to the role of Kevin Bernard this year for the show’s first new episodes in over a decade. Anderson also filled in for Jimmy Kimmel last year, during which he interviewed the cast of The Suicide Squad.
