Dave Chappelle and John Mayer Cover Nirvana's "Come As You Are" at Secret L.A. Show

Dave Chappelle joined John Mayer on stage for a cover of Nirvana's "Come As You Are" at a secret show in L.A.

Nirvana covers are really hard to pull off. In fact, purists generally recommend avoiding them at all costs unless you have a name like Sturgill and a bottomless amount of fucks to not give. But what's this? Dave Chappelle joining Chappelle's Show alum John Mayer for an acoustic take on "Come As You Are," a classic by any measurement? I'm all in:

Chappelle joined Mayer at a secret show at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles earlier this week, Pitchforkreported Thursday. The show, in support of Mayer's upcoming The Search for Everything album, included everything from known Mayer cuts to a quick slice of Nirvana to a spot of Tom Petty:

"Dave and I do this in different cities until about 5 in the morning," Mayer told the crowd before Chappelle asked everyone to put their phones down so he could "tell the truth."

Though we aren't expecting any John Mayer cameos, we are overwhelmed with stokedness regarding Netflix's recent acquisition of THREE new comedy specials from Chappelle. Maybe one of them will just be an entire hour of Nirvana covers?
