The subtweet is the perfect way to talk about someone behind their back yet still in their face. It's basically a tech-savvy way of throwing shade, and over time it has proven to be a gender neutral, global phenom. And it's not just you and yours doing it, celebrities are just as bad. In fact, they're probably better at it than you because they're aware that everyone is watching. What follows is a recent history of celebrities subtweeting each other. Some get repeat mentions given their clear affinity for the act. Say Chris Brown and Azealia Banks, which ought to surprise not a single soul reading this list. Nevertheless, everyone listed should try to do better Or not. Hell, I subtweet, too. Sometimes it be's like that.

Kim Kardashian vs. Amber Rose

Many took this faux-deep tweet from the top-earning Kardashian as a response to Amber Rose's then-recent round of interviews in which she revealed that years ago Kim was cheating on Reggie Bush with Kanye West. You know, Amber's then boyfriend. I'm not sure why the person who did the cheating is trying to take the high road, but I don't think like a Kardashian so you got me.
Meek Mill and Chris Brown

Once rumors that Meek Mill messed around with Rihanna at the strip club began to swirl, Chris Brown removed the Philly rapper from his single "Don't Judge Me." Meek took to Twitter to share his feelings and Chris soon subtweeted disses about Rihanna. Rih jumped in, as did Drake who tweeted, "Oh, that's your ho? That's our ho too. Lol." I can think of some hoes in this story, but none involve a woman from Barbados.
John Legend Defends His Woman

Chris Brown's lip syncing at the 2012 Billboard Awards was mocked by the likes of Pink and John Legend's then fiance (now wife, congrats, y'all) Chrissy Teigen. Chrissy received a sizable clap back from members of #TeamBreezy, but Chris himself was vile enough to subtweet John Legend about "keeping his bitch on a leash." Yes, the womanizing dude with a history of beating women thought it was a good idea to share that sentiment on the Internet. John Legend defended his girl and showed how an adult should behave.
Nicki Minaj vs. Azealia Banks

A very happy Azealia Banks announced via Twitter that she had been tapped by Nicki Minaj to open for her during the European leg of the Pink Friday tour. Nicki's response was not so nice, though Azealia was quick to cite specific names and details that would suggest that [someone] over in Nicki's management reached out to the burgeoning rap star who is a pretty big deal abroad. It's a shame this didn't work out. Are we never getting a nouveau version of "Ladies Night" now?

Mind you, this is the person who has abused drugs and alcohol, stole, hit people with her cars, and all types of mess and yet has never stayed inside of a jail cell for a significant amount of time. And she had the nerve to try to blame black men for some of her crimes—twice. Shut up, Lindsay Lohan. Amanda Bynes has mental health issues, you're just a mess. Then she branded Mariah "bitter" and "insecure" and noted that despite all of her accolades, "Idol" producers still wanted J.Lo back.

Well, Girl Billy Ray, context matters, as does confirmation. Azealia said that she wasn't referring to Miley in those tweets, but you know, point still stands.
