Popular streamer Nina Lin has apologized after resurfaced footage of a May 2024 stream ignited controversy.
In the stream, Nina and Zoe Spencer were shown restraining and twerking on an uncomfortable-seeming Said, the assistant of FaZe Silky.
Onlookers present during the stream can be heard expressing disapproval, and some of them suggest that Said was not consenting. Later footage appears to show attempts to usher Said onto a bed.
Viewers noted that Said tried repeatedly to escape, even hiding upstairs before being brought back to continue the stream. After the original stream, Said posted on social media that he felt assaulted, but later deleted his posts. The resurfacing of the footage has sparked renewed outrage online.
After the footage resurfaced, Said said in a now-deleted X post that "I've been vocal about the situation originally and nobody cared." He went on to say that "i've been invalidated by the other parties. which don't realize what it did."
Just days after Said's comments, Lin responded to the renewed attention with an apology. In a video, she says that at the time of the stream, she "genuinely, 100 percent thought it was a joke," and believed that Said was laughing.
But on reflection, she continued, "it is wrong."
"What we did was wrong," she said. "He clearly was uncomfortable with it. He was very hurt by it."
