Hugh Hefner took so much Viagra that he went deaf in one ear before he died, according to his widow, Crystal Hefner.

In her upcoming memoir, Only Say Good Things, the former Playboy model revealed her late husband popped so many pills of the erection-enhancing drug to keep his motor running that he lost his hearing.

"Hef always said he'd rather be deaf and still able to have sex," she writes in the book via the Daily Mail. "Weird."

One of the side effects of taking Viagra excessively is the loss of hearing in one or both ears, according to reports done by the National Library of Medicine. A study in 2010 claimed using Viagra and other drugs for erectile dysfunction may double the chances of hearing loss.

Crystal first met Hefner when she was only 21, and he was 81. According to Crystal, their first night together was "unremarkable."

"Whatever you would like, whatever you would think, or however you would want a night to go, well, it wasn't that," she said in her book that's set to arrive in stores in January 2024.

Despite the less-than-exciting first night and claims of Hefner controlling every facet of her life, Crystal paid tribute to the Playboy founder, who passed away at the age of 91 after suffering cardiac arrest while battling E. coli in 2017.

"I will feel eternally grateful to have been by his side, holding his hand, and telling him how much I love him," she said at the time of his death.
