The Internet has come together to support the Marsh family after the tragic loss of three-year-old Elijah.

More than $105,000 has been raised in the last 24 hours, via the crowdfunding site Tilt, to pay for the cost of little Elijah’s funeral. Donations continue to pour in as this sad story reaches the hearts of people across Canada.

The three-year-old passed away Thursday February 19 in Toronto, after wandering outside into frigid winter conditions.

Elijah wandered out of his grandmother's apartment where he was staying with family early Thursday morning wearing only a diaper, t-shirt and winter boots. Security footage shows that he left the building by himself at 4:20am when the temperature dipped into the minus-20s. His absence wasn’t noticed until family members woke up at 7:30am. Later in the day, little Elijah was found without vital signs in a laneway about 300 metres away. He later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The creator of the campaign, Torontonian Justin Kozuch, initially aimed to raise $20,000. Kozuch told CTV News that the story touched him because of his own three-year-old recently discovering how to unlock and open his apartment doors.
