Jimmy Kimmel Buries Roy Moore: 'Guess What? God Decided, It's Over'

Jimmy Kimmel really has a history of going after Roy Moore, and with good reason.

Jimmy Kimmel devoted a considerable chunk of time on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night to reacting to the news of Roy Moore’s loss in the Senate election in Alabama. Kimmel, who has been very open about his liberal views and distaste for the current state of the Republican party, was predictably very happy with the results, if not more so because Moore has been accused of pedophilia and is also a bigot and a racist.

“A Republican losing to a Democrat in Alabama is like a grizzly bear losing to a fish,” Kimmel said.

Kimmel also pointed out the ungracious way that Moore reacted to losing the election. “Not only didn’t he concede last night,” Kimmel noted. “As of our show time tonight, he still hasn’t conceded. He said, ‘God will decide when it’s over.’ Well, guess what? God decided. It’s over. God went home. God is sitting on his couch watching Netflix right now.”

This isn’t the first time Kimmel has spoken out against Moore, and in fact the two have a thorny relationship. Back in November, comedian Tony Barber filmed a Kimmel segment crashing a church service where Moore was speaking. Barber heckled the former judge while in character as Jake Byrd and while wearing a “Gimme Moore” sweatshirt.

After this, Moore and Kimmel got into a string of Twitter spats (which Kimmel won every time, by the way).

Kimmel got even more heated than that, though. He used his monologue time on a recent episode of his talk show to get extra savage with his takedown and smear Moore’s name even further in the dirt. "There is no one I would love to fight more than you. I will put my Christian values aside just for you and for that fight,” Kimmel said. “Let's find a place to do it. I'll wear a Girl Scouts uniform so you can have something to get excited about. Whoever wins the fight will give all the money we charge for the tickets to charity. My charity will be the women who came forward to say you molested them.”
