From Jaws to random attacks that hit the news, sharks continue to fascinate.
Now, fans can get an entire week of shark-related content.
It's called Shark Week 2025, and the programming airs on the Discovery Channel starting on July 20.
The Discovery Channel website has posted the entire schedule.
The highlight of it appears to be a program called Dancing With the Sharks.
"Summer’s most-anticipated television programming event, Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, returns for its historic 37th year on Sunday, July 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The network previously announced the upcoming Shark Week special Dancing with Sharks and today released the first official promo clip for the 2025 celebration," the website says. Here's that clip:
What is Dancing With the Sharks?
"Hosted by Emmy Award-winning television personality Tom Bergeron, Dancing With Sharks (wt) is a new Shark Week 2025 special that features an unprecedented underwater dance competition between expert divers and their shark partners," Discovery Channel notes.
"Blending skill, grace and the daring pursuit of the ultimate underwater thrill, five divers—all trained by a world-class underwater choreographer—will compete to show off their skills during epic underwater dances," it says.
"Each diver will attempt to outperform their competitors, with moves including the Hammerhead Hoedown and Tiger Trot, and redefine dancing with danger. They will have one shot to wow the judges and be crowned the first-ever champion of Dancing With Sharks."
The week also includes several podcasts, including one exploring sharks' intelligence.
"We shouldn’t just think of them as dumb fish with rows of razor-sharp teeth," according to Discovery Channel.
The Shark Week 2025 podcasts are posted on the channel's website.
Where can you watch Shark Week 2025? It's available on Discovery and also can be streamed on HBO Max and Discovery+.
The shark-focused content will continue all week, ending on July 26.
