Three years after their extramarital affair was exposed, former GMA3 stars Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are engaged.
The news personalities announced their engagement on the Tuesday (October 14) episode of their iHeartRadio podcast, Amy & TJ, per People. Holmes proposed to Robach last month.
"We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to. We’ve learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship," he told listeners.
He added that his soon-to-be wife had been "dangling a ring in everybody's face every chance you could," which no one commented on.
"I was in three massive football stadiums three weekends in a row, wearing my engagement ring very proudly, very excitedly, and kept waiting for somebody to point it out or ask me, 'Hey, what’s that?' And it never happened," Robach said.
Robach also opted against posting a picture of herself on Instagram, which unintentionally showed the engagement ring, after her fiancé pointed it out. The couple will soon share the details about Holmes' proposal, but in the meantime, they've "been celebrating with family."
Gossip columns reported on Robach and Holmes' relationship in 2023, while the two were still married to their respective previous spouses. Holmes was married to his second wife, Marilee Fiebig, since 2010 while Robach was married to her second husband, Andrew Shue, also since 2010. Fiebig and Shue have been dating since 2023.
The affair caused a stir at the GMA3 studio, with the former hosts being ousted from their positions after the scandal was deemed a "distraction." The couple have repeatedly spoken on the hope of getting married on their podcast, and last December, Holmes assured Robach that he wouldn't propose to her on Christmas.
