UPDATED 7/2, 5:30 p.m. ET: Two weeks after being placed under a psychiatric hold, Amanda Bynes is back home.
TMZ reports the former Nickelodeon star checked out of the mental health facility late Friday. Bynes has since returned home to start her road to recovery, which will begin with her receiving outpatient care courtesy of medical professionals, who will monitor the actress as she continues to improve.
"Both Amanda and her medical team felt she's made the right steps toward getting back to living independently," sources told the outlet.
TMZ added, "We're told Amanda will also be monitored to make sure she's taking her daily meds and continues to stay in a good headspace."

UPDATED 6/22, 11:30 a.m. ET: Amanda Bynes' psychiatric hold has been extended by a week, TMZ reports.
Sources close to the troubled former child star said that Bynes has had her mandatory 72-hour psychiatric hold extended by a further week. She is not expected to be released from psychiatric care until she has been stabilized through therapy and medication. Friends and family reportedly said she does well when she's on her meds, but is known to relapse when she isn't medicated.
Bynes was previously placed in a conservatorship, during which her mother was responsible for her. Sources added that a new conservatorship petition would prove difficult, but not impossible.
UPDATED 6/19, 9:10 p.m. ET: Amanda Bynes was placed on a 5150 hold again.
According to TMZ, the former star turned herself in to authorities on Saturday morning after being deemed a danger to herself and others.
She was placed under a 72-hour mandatory psychiatric hold for her safety. This comes after the outlet released photos of the 37-year-old being detained by police over the holiday weekend.

Amanda Bynes has reportedly been taken into police custody for a mental health evaluation, as reported by TMZ.
According to TMZ's law enforcement sources, LAPD officers responded to a call on the morning of June 17 of a woman in distress. The woman was revealed to be Bynes herself. The former child star was reportedly taken to a police station where medical professionals then evaluated her to determine if she needed further treatment.
Paparazzi photos show a calm Bynes being escorted into a police car in handcuffs. According to eyewitnesses, she did not appear to be in distress and was calm.
Bynes made headlines earlier this year after being spotted on the streets of Downtown Los Angeles in distress. She was eventually found roaming the streets naked and was placed on a psychiatric hold after flagging down a pedestrian and calling 911 herself, explaining that she needed assistance. The actress was released in early April and was expected to begin outpatient treatment while maintaining her independence, according to TMZ.
Prior to these incidents, the former Amanda Show star was released from a nine-year-long conservatorship that she was placed under after several erratic incidents, including a report that she set a driveway on fire. She was then diagnosed as bipolar. At the age of 36, a judge ruled in 2022 that she no longer needed to be under the supervision of her mother, which all parties agreed to.
Despite the incident in which Bynes was discovered on the streets of Los Angeles, another TMZ report stated that her parents, Lynn and Rick, were not considering placing her back under a conservatorship. A source stated that they were glad their daughter recognized she needed help and called the authorities herself.
