On Monday, the Daily Mail ran a snippet of an interview where Asia Argento opened up about what it was like to learn of late boyfriend Anthony Bourdain's suicide.

In the interview, Argento talked about backlash she received shortly after Bourdain's death once pictures surfaced of her getting close with a journalist friend of hers. Argento gave her side of the story by stating that the two openly cheated on one another due to having hectic travel schedules.

"People say I killed him,” she said in the sitdown. “People need to think that he killed himself for something like this? He had cheated on me too. It wasn’t a problem for us. He was a man who traveled 265 days a year. When we saw each other we took really great pleasure in each other’s company. We are not children."

Argento continued: "We had lives, we had wives and husbands, we had children. I cannot think of Anthony as somebody who would do an extreme gesture like this for something like that."

The actress also said that she was initially angry after learning of Bourdain's suicide. "I was angry [at him], yes, for abandoning me, my kids," she said through tears. "I was angry [at him], yes, for abandoning me, my kids."

Argento has two children from previous relationships, while Bourdain had a daughter, Ariane, with his estranged wife.

In addition to her above comments, Argento also stated that the anger has kept her alive, because "otherwise this desperation has no end."

Argento has been in the news lately over reports she paid Jimmy Bennett to quiet allegations that she had sex with the then 17-year-old when she was 37.
