A groundbreaking new study about sex and wellbeing has found happy couples don't need to have sex as much as you probably think to be happy. Turns out, they only really need to have sex once a week. We can all agree that's doable (pun intended), right?

A study on sexual frequency and wellbeing published by The Society of Personality and Social Psychology surveyed 30,000 U.S. adults in couples during the course of four decades to conclude sex once a week is perfect. The study reports more than once a week won't make couples any happier, because like most things, it's about quality not quantity. Here's lead researcher Amy Muise elaborating on the findings for The Society of Personality and Social Psychology: "Our findings suggest that it's important to maintain an intimate connection with your partner, but you don't need to have sex every day as long as you're maintaining that connection."

Also revealed by the study was that women's desire for sex was the same as men's and that older people and couples who've been married for years, or even decades, are having sex as just as frequently as younger men and women.

Now you can quit worrying about how much sex your other couple friends may or may not be having. Just do you.
