Selena Gomez Responds to Plastic Surgery Speculation, Says She Only Has Botox
The 32-year-old singer has been the center of a lot of speculation that she's had work done on her face.
Selena Gomez says she hasn’t had much plastic surgery.
The singer commented on a TikTok over the weekend, in response to a physician assistant for a plastic surgeon who discussed—in an older video—exactly what cosmetic procedures Gomez has had done to her face.
"Honestly I hate this. I was on stripes because of flare up. I have Botox. That's it. Leave me alone,” Gomez commented on Marissa Barrionuevo’s TikTok.
In the clip, the physician assistant shared side-by-side photos of Gomez to illustrate how her face has changed over time. The TikToker also mentioned that lupus could have changed Selena’s appearance.

"I think she's been through so much in her life, especially medically related, so I don't think it's fair to speculate whether or not she's gotten cosmetic things done," Barrionuevo said. "At the end of the day, let's just leave her be."
Barrionuevo apologized to Gomez in a separate video. "I adore you," the PA said, "I really do mean the best, so I apologize if this rubbed you the wrong way in any way whatsoever."
She added, "You don't owe it to anyone to tell us why you don't look the same as when you did when you were a teenage or in your twenties."
Gomez responded to Barrionuevo’s apology, writing, “I love you. Not about you. I just get sad sometimes.”

In 2014, the 32-year-old was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disorder that attacks healthy tissue and organs.
