Rockstar Games' Bully 2 is expected to arrive in late 2020 ... according to an unconfirmed report.
On Sunday, popular YouTuber SWEGTA shared a video claiming to have received some information about the long-awaited sequel. He claims to have received a message from a Rockstar Games insider who claimed Bully 2 was scheduled to hit the shelves around October or November of next year—about 14 years after the original was released.
As SWEGTA points out, this timeframe makes complete sense, as it would coincide with the release of the next-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The game will also reportedly release via the PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Scarlett, and Xbox One.
"The motive for this is purely financial," SWEGTA said, citing the source. "Just like with GTA V on the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One."
The Youtuber also points to the Bully Easter egg in the GTA Online casino update, which included a number of art pieces that could be displayed in the new penthouses. One work of art sparked speculation of an imminent Bully 2 release, as it was titled "Canis Canem Edit"—the motto of Bully's Bullworth Academy. The piece also displayed four panels, each with a different image: a fist, a snake, a skull, and a rat, all of which are on the academy's crest.
Of course, Rockstar Games could've simply been nodding to one of its most beloved games, but the recent Bully 2 report suggests the company is teasing the sequel's release.
It's also important to note that Rockstar Games has not confirmed the rumors, but that hasn't stopped fans from collectively freaking out. Take a look at some of the reactions to SWEGTA's report below.
