Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul Reveal Heavily Teased Collaboration and ‘Breaking Bad’ Fans Aren’t Happy

The good news? Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have provided details on their much-anticipated collaborative project. The not so good news? It has nothing to do with Breaking Bad.

Fans of the hit AMC series began holding their collective breath about two weeks ago, when Cranston and Paul began dropping cryptic teasers on Instagram. The former co-stars posted a series of photos that were shot in central Mexico, along with captions that read: "Soon," "Even sooner," and, the day before the big reveal, "A collaboration so smooth you can taste it."

Many assumed Cranston and Paul were about to drop a Breaking Bad announcement, perhaps some details about the show's rumored feature-length film. Though the movie is still reportedly in the works, it turns out Cranston and Paul were teasing something completely unrelated: their new mezcal company, Dos Hombres.

"We had the time of our lives while shooting Breaking Bad and truly built a very special bond," reads the caption on Cranston and Paul's identical posts. "Knowing that we couldn't share the screen for quite a while – our thoughts turned to a new project. ... We searched high and low all over Oaxaca, met incredible people along the way and after a beautiful yet grueling search throughout that majestic landscape we believed we may have found our place. Our Mezcal. It was on a dirt-road, in a tiny village, hours away from the center of town, we found it and it was perfect. Holy shit it was perfect. We looked at each other and just simply nodded. This is it. We named it Dos Hombres - two guys on a quest."
