Seth Rogen isn’t happy with Jack in the Box.

The actor took to Twitter on Sunday to call out the fast food chain for naming its new milkshake, the “Pineapple Express Shake,” after his 2008 film Pineapple Express. According to Rogen, Jack in the Box didn’t get authorization to name its menu item after the classic stoner comedy.

“This has nothing to do with the movie ‘Pineapple Express,’” Rogen responded to a Jack in the Box promotional tweet.

“We had nothing to do with this and weren’t asked if we wanted our film associated with this,” he continued. “And obviously if we did a tie in, it would have to be to promote those fucking diarrhea inducing taco things they shell.”

This has nothing to do with the movie Pineapple Express. We had nothing to do with this and weren’t asked if we wanted our film associated with this. And obviously if we did a tie in, it would have to be to promote those bizarre fucking diarrhea inducing taco things they sell. https://t.co/klzytABPUY

Written by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the James Franco-starring film hit theaters in August 2008, grossing $102 million worldwide on a $26 million budget.

Despite Pineapple Express’ success at the box office, Rogen admitted in August 2020 that at one point they had plans to make a sequel, but ultimately budget concerns meant the studio wasn’t interested.

“We tried to make one,” Rogen explained on The Howard Stern Show. “Thanks to the Sony hack, you can actually find the email when Sony decided to kill the movie and not make it. It was something we were very open to several years ago, but Sony was not that interested in it.”

Rogen added, “I think we probably wanted too much money. Studios, they don’t like giving away money. Weird thing.”
