Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., has been arrested over allegations that he sexually assaulted a female classmate inside an Atlanta-area gym.
Alpharetta police took KJ into custody on Monday, August 17, in connection with an alleged April 23 encounter at a Life Time Fitness facility. He faces charges of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery, according to Fulton County Juvenile Court documents obtained by Page Six.
The alleged victim, who was also 15 at the time and has not been named in the papers, told investigators that she was walking through the gym with KJ when he began flirting and joking with her. Court documents allege that KJ led the girl into a changing area near a family locker room before kissing and groping her without consent.
She accused him of forcing oral sex, digitally penetrating her, and repeatedly attempting to pull down her pants despite being told no. “She finally managed to get away from him, and he pulled up his pants and left,” the court filing states.
The alleged encounter reportedly occurred in a co-ed sauna area, and surveillance footage later confirmed that KJ had been at the gym, although he allegedly did not scan a membership card upon entering. The girl reportedly went to school the following day, experienced a panic attack after encountering KJ’s girlfriend, and later disclosed the alleged assault.
She was examined at North Fulton Hospital, but authorities reportedly found no male DNA. Police began investigating the accusation in May, roughly three months before the arrest.
KJ is currently being held without bond at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center. Reports differ on the date of his next hearing: Us Weekly reported that a preliminary hearing was scheduled for September 8, while Page Six listed a September 1 court date. Neither Kim nor KJ’s father, former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Kroy Biermann, has publicly addressed the arrest. Representatives for the family also had not commented as of this writing.
KJ, a high school defensive lineman, is the oldest biological child of Kim and Kroy, who married in 2011. They also share a son, Kash, and twins Kaia and Kane. Kroy adopted Kim’s older daughters, Brielle and Ariana, in 2013.
The family spent years in front of Bravo cameras, first through Kim’s run as an original RHOA cast member and later on the spin-off Don’t Be Tardy, which lasted eight seasons. KJ was born during the early years of that reality TV run and largely grew up onscreen.
The arrest comes as Kim and Kroy remain locked in a contentious divorce and custody dispute that began in 2023. A judge reportedly granted Kroy primary physical custody of their four youngest children in May.
Kim previously rejected accusations that she was an unfit parent, calling them “completely false” and “a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character.”
