Seth Rogen heard about the underage Iowan arrested for using a McLovin ID from his movie Superbad to get drunk and he's loving it.
Rogen shared a link to the story on Twitter and told his followers that his "work here is done."
For the uninitiated, the character played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse buys an awfully made Hawaiian fake ID to purchase alcohol. The ID only has the single name of McLovin on it, and posits that he was born in 1981. In the film, Mintz-Plasse passes off the idea because the cashiers believe his single name is awesome.
20-year-old Daniel Alfredo Burleson of Des Moines was recently arrested by police in Iowa City after being approached by an officer in a bar, according to the Iowa City Press-Citizen. Burleson reportedly had a drink in his hand, a bar wristband and bloodshot eyes, and refused to show the officer his ID inside the bar. After being escorted out, he showed his actual ID. Police then asked for his fake ID and he told them he didn't have one. However, while Burleson was looking through his wallet, police spotted his McLovin ID. Burleson then told officers that he bought the ID off of Amazon, where it is available for around $15.
He was charged with public intoxication, being under legal age in a bar, possession of a fictitious license and possession of alcohol while underage.
