Salma Hayek marked her latest lap around the sun with a stunning birthday post.
The Mexican actress celebrated her 58th birthday on Monday in style with a photo dump on her Instagram account.
“Birthday bikini dump, happy 58th birthday to me! 🎂❤️🎉P.s none of these are throwbacks,” Hayek wrote on IG before repeating the message in Spanish and concluding with “#grateful.”
The photos feature the House of Gucci actress in a number of different looks while posing on a yacht while overlooking the vastness of the ocean in select shots.
The bikini shots might be a tradition of sorts for the Hollywood star, as she also celebrated her 57th birthday with a set of sunny, beachside photos last year.
When speaking to Glamour’s Sam Reed about aging in a 2023 interview, Hayek shared that the advice she would give her 30-year-old self would be to “stop being melodramatic.”
“I would say, ‘Great things are coming your way. Do not settle for the wrong man.’ That’s something I really thank myself for.” And, ‘Do not listen to all these expiration dates that they give you,’” Hayek told the magazine at the time.
“Because I was also told that, as an actress, you kind of stop working around 30. Imagine? I did really feel it at the time, and it’s unfair. If I had said instead to myself, ‘Don’t worry, your best professional moments are going to be in your 50s,’ I would have been devastated: ‘Oh my God, do I have to wait that long?’ But it’ll happen.”
Further into the interview, she stated, “I thought getting older meant I wasn’t going to work; I’m working. I thought getting older maybe meant that you’re not in love anymore; I’m in love. I don’t feel that I lost my flexibility or my agility or even my strength. I do have to say that I have found it beautiful, getting older with someone.”
Hayek is referring to husband François-Henri Pinault, whom she wed in 2009, and recently celebrated their 15th anniversary. The couple also share a daughter, Valentina Paloma, whom they welcomed in 2007.
