Rob Dyrdek is pivoting away from commenting on viral videos to launch an Al-powered scheduling app he considers his best work yet.
After MTV announced last month that it was canceling Ridiculousness, Dyrdek posted a video talking about the start of a new era with his new app, “Existence.”
"The week that my show ends and my run on MTV ends is the same week that I launch what I consider my magnum opus, my time intelligence platform: 'Existence,’” he said in a video shared to X on Monday (Nov. 11).
In the nearly 3-minute clip, Dyrdek said that his obsession with efficiency on Ridiculousness, where he eventually learned how to film twelve episodes a day, came from a personal "time mastery goal" that transformed both his work and lifestyle. Now, Dyrdek wants others to apply those same principles through the AI-driven app.
"I know the reason I live such an amazing life in such a high quality existence is because I account for all my time," he said. "I created this so that everybody could easily account for their time, optimize their time, and thus optimize their quality of life."
Elsewhere in the video, Dydek said, “Over these last few years, I was growing out of having that ball cap and and and standing on the Ridiculousness stage and … shooting the television show. What I was most proud of is how deeply efficient I got. I started shooting the show— I would shoot one show over like two or three hours, and I got that all the way down to 25 minutes. I used to shoot two episodes a day and I got to shooting 12 a day.”
MTV confirmed that Ridiculousness will end after 14 years on the air, with its 46th and final season having begun October 12 and expected to continue into 2026.
According to Variety, a source said the network’s decision is part of a broader shift toward “a more curated slate of content” that “embraces its experimental DNA” and represents “different creative voices” and a “refreshed programming.”
