Cillian Murphy, star of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, was asked about his thoughts on starring as Ken for a possible sequel to Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

With “Barbenheimer” mania still in full swing, it made sense that the star would be asked about a potential crossover in a future Barbie sequel. “Sure, yeah. Let’s read the script, let’s have a conversation,” Murphy told Omelete’s Caio Coletti.

Despite the flicks sharing an opening weekend, everyone involved in both movies seem to be excited for each other’s success. “I think it’s great. I mean, I’ll be going to see Barbie,” added Murphy. “I think it’s just great for the industry and for audiences that we have two amazing films by amazing filmmakers coming out the same day.”

"Summer, in a healthy marketplace, is always crowded, and we've been doing this a long time,” director Christopher Nolan said in conversation with IGN. “I think for those of us who care about movies, we've been really waiting to have a crowded marketplace again, and now it's here and that's terrific." As for which film you should watch first, that’s another conversation.

According to earlier reports, Barbie raked in $155 million at the U.S. box office while Oppenheimer opened to a cooler $80.5 million. If you can’t beat ‘em, join them for the sequel.
