Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Starring in Netflix Sci-Fi Film

The untitled film is being helmed by 'Paranormal Activity 3' and '4' directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.

Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have been tapped to star in an untitled Netflix flick coming from directorial duo Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.

The storyline of the sci-fi feature is completely under wraps, so it’s totally unknown what Foxx will be doing in this forthcoming flick or when we can expect it to hit small screens. Joost and Schulman are the eyes behind Paranormal Activity 3 and Paranormal Activity 4, as well as the documentary Catfish. They’re also executive producers on the Catfish MTV show and have created a number of videos for Vogue and elsewhere.

Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless are serving as producers, as a part of their new deal with Netflix through Screen Arcade. Those names may not be super well known, but Newman is behind some popular sci-fi dramas like Children of Men and Zack Snyder’s Dawn of The Dead reboot. He is also the man who conceived Netflix’s Narcos, where he was showrunner as well as writer. Unkeless produced the Oscar-nominated film I, Tonya starring Margot Robbie and Allison Janney.

Foxx's speculative fiction adaptations don't stop here. He's also playing the titular role in a Todd McFarlane-directed Spawn reboot, which is slated for a 2019 release. McFarlane first brought the role to Foxx years ago. "I'm going to Jamie first and until he says no I don’t want to think about anyone else because I’ve never had anyone else in my head," McFarland said. "Luckily, he hadn’t forgotten either. I said, 'Hey, I’m back to talk about Spawn again, and he was like, let’s do it.' And now it's happening."
