You may have heard sometime in the last half-day that a Breaking Badmovie from show creator Vince Gilligan is officially on the way.SlashFilmsays it "has learned" the two-hour feature is a sequel that continues Jesse Pinkman’s story following the final season of the show.

Aaron Paul will return to reprise his role as Pinkman, but it’s still unclear if Bryan Cranston will return. The Albuquerque Journal reports the movie “tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.”

"The kidnapped man is Jesse Pinkman and the movie will follow his escape from Albuquerque following the bloody events of the series finale," SlashFilm writes. It's been five years since Breaking Bad left the small screen after a wildly successful five seasons.

As Uproxxpoints out, Cranston also confirmed the forthcoming movie, and said he’d “absolutely” appear in it if Gilligan asks. “Yes, there appears to be a movie version of Breaking Bad,” he said on Wednesday’s episode of The Dan Patrick Show. “It’s a great story, and there’s a lot of people who felt that they wanted to see some kind of completion to these storylines that were left open, and this idea, from what I’m told, gets into those...at least a couple of the characters who were not completed, as far as their journey.”

Gilligan penned the new script and may direct the sequel. Production is reportedly starting this month in New Mexico and aiming to wrap in early February.
