The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air had a six-season run that changed the course of television history. Now the cast has reflected on their impact, plus some conversation about fending off a global pandemic.
Will Smith is in the midst of wrapping up his Will From Home Snapchat series with a two-part finale featuring the cast of Fresh Prince. The first installment aired on Wednesday morning and the second will air Thursday at 6 a.m. ET. The reunion featured fan favorites like Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz), Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Vivian), and Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey).
There will also be a tribute to the late James Avery, who played Uncle Phil and died in 2013 at age 68.
Snapchat shared two clips of the reunion on YouTube—one with Jazzy Jeff and another with Ribeiro. During his conversation with the latter, Will recalled the time Alfonso convinced him to name his character after himself.
"It was such a deep insight that you had," Will said. "You said, ‘Because people are going to call you that for the rest of your life!'"
Will From Home documents Smith's life in isolation. He launched the series in April as a way to keep in touch with his friends as well as inform people about the current pandemic. The series boasted appearances from Dr. Anthony Fauci, Kevin James, Guy Fieri, Johnny Knoxville, Tyra Banks, and Jaden Smith.
