Starks arrive at the "Game of Thrones" season finale premiere.

Time may heal all wounds, but Game of Thrones fans evidently still need some more time to get over their disappointment towards the eighth and final season of the hit HBO show. On Monday, the series' Twitter account posted their famous slogan, a possible hint at something on the horizon, or sadly, a mere reference to the Winter Solstice, which occurs on December 21.

Winter is coming.

The tweet turned out to be a trigger for Thrones' fans who thought the show was twisting the dragonglass dagger through their already ice-cold heart.

This is like when your shitty ex texts you months after a bad breakup with one of your cute lil inside jokes or pet names

Winter is coming, as in, "Winter is literally coming to the Northern hemisphere," or, "We have some kind of spinoff announcement we're gonna make any second"? https://t.co/3tCMeZY8b2
