Brian Tarantina, the actor known for his roles in Amazon Prime's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and NBC's Heroes, has died at 60.
The actor had been battling health problems, according to reports. TMZ reported that Tarantina was found dead Saturday morning in his New York City apartment of an apparent drug overdose. Paramedics and first responders told the news outlet that a white powdery substance was found near his body.
“Brian had been ill lately,” a representative for Tarantina told PEOPLE. “He was recently in the hospital and was in the process of recuperating from what I believe to be a heart-related issue.” The New York City medical examiner’s office will confirm the actor's exact cause of death at a later date.
Tarantina had appearances on shows like Gilmore Girls, Law & Order, The Black Donnellys, The Sopranos, and The Good Wife. He also appeared on the big screen as well, in films like Donnie Brasco, Uncle Buck, and Summer of Sam.
