Executive producer James Wan is just as baffled as you are by the sudden Swamp Thing cancellation.  The DC Universe show ended suddenly after one episode, an odd move considering the pedigree of the character and the people behind it. The director of Aquaman, The Conjuring and Furious 7 shared his confusion on Instagram along with a picture of the titular critter.

“Don’t really know or understand why #Swampthing was cancelled but I can tell you this — all the cast and crew, and producing/writing team poured their hearts into this," he said. "Really proud of everyone’s hard work. Go watch episode 2, and immortalize these 10 episodes. Swampy deserves it.”

The series was attempting to follow a CDC investigator as he dealt with a mystery surrounding a Louisiana swamp. The series was originally ordered to run for 13 episodes but the order was shortened to 10 for a variety of reasons. The cancellation will do little to derail Wan, who is insanely busy after his successful Aquaman interpretation and the undying Conjuring franchise, as well as the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie.
