A soldier in the South Korean military went AWOL to catch a screening of Avengers: Endgame.

WowTV reports that one soldier with the Republic of Korea Air Force 20th Fighter Wing failed to heed the call to assemble and was instead found in a movie theater watching the endcap of the MCU's first era.

The fanboy who put making himself spoilerproof over country was tracked down by military police after they questioned a taxi cab driver who admitted to dropping off a soldier at a movie theater. The soldier was found inside and arrested as he left the theater.

“I wanted to see the Avengers movie so I ran away from the site while we were standing by,” the soldier explained, according to a translation shared by Kotaku.

The South Korean military are investigating the incident, which made headlines nationwide. They said that they are working to prevent situations like this from happening in the future. Should be easy now that the Avengers are over.

“We will enforce our training so the soldiers assigned to public welfare activity can focus on their mission,” a spokesperson shared.

It's not like Endgame needs the support of anyone else, active-duty military or otherwise. The film has already shattered box office records, earning $1.2 billion in its first week globally and netting the single biggest opening day in US history.

"Though Endgame is far from an end for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, these first 22 films constitute a sprawling achievement, and this weekend’s monumental success is a testament to the world they’ve envisioned, the talent involved, and their collective passion, matched by the irrepressible enthusiasm of fans around the world,” said Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn.
