Last month, we gave you 10 Switch games on the relative horizon to look out for. A new Pokémon  game was noticeably absent from this rundown in part because, though rumored, nothing was official and they're very dramatic with their announcements:

Just remember, a new Pokémon game has never been showcased first in a general direct. While it is possible, it's not likely as The Pokémon Company would want the reveal to stand on its own, as evidenced by every main series reveal since Nintendo Directs started. #NintendoDirect

However, on Wednesday, which you no doubt have off because it's "Pokémon Day," Nintendo made it official by uploading a trailer for the Switch-bound Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, both of which are aiming for a fall release date.

The titles represent the first mainline games from the series to arrive on a home console.

The games (there's always got to be two with this series) will be in a new region called "Galar," and will also debut a number of new Pokémon, including this trio of starters (Scorbunny, Sobble and Grookey) featured about halfway through the trailer:

Trailers can lie, sure. But...so far, looking good.
