Sony Pictures has made the entire script for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse available to read online, just in case, for some reason, you don't like movie theaters—or you’re not a fan of film's animation, which is certainly different.

The Miles Morales-starring animated film employed some unique animation technology—stylistically, it closely resembles the comic book series on which it's based. Sony has applied for patent protection on the method. Now, the U.S. Patents and Trademark Office will determine if the techniques used to create the specific look of the film can be patented, although as noted by Deadline, the process can take up to five years.

Into The Spider-Verse had a surprisingly stunning debut in theaters earlier this month. As Entertainment Weekly reports, the animated superhero film hit the No. 1 spot at the box office in both Canada and the U.S., bringing in a respectable $35.4 million in tickets across 3,813 theaters. The movie even managed to knock Ralph Breaks the Internet from the top spot.

Into the Spider-Verse was produced on a budget of $90 million, with a predicted opening weekend gross of around $30 million to $40 million. The film represents another take on the Spider-Man mythos, with Sony taking their own approach to the character and spinning off something completely different from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
