Page Six reports that Saturday Night Live head Lorne Michaels' decision to cut sketches involving Pete Davidson had everything to with the comedian's alarming Instagram post where he stated that he didn't "want to be on this earth anymore."

"The decision was taken to give Pete a break on Saturday night – his sketches were dropped before the early evening rehearsals," a source told Page Six. Michaels is also reportedly making sure Davidson gets the help he needs.

"Lorne has pledged to help all he can, including sending Pete to get help," the source added. "Everyone on the cast is hugely protective of him and were obviously upset — particularly Colin Jost and Michael Che on ‘Weekend Update.'" The outpouring of support towards Davidson didn't end there. His ex-fiancée Ariana Grande reportedly went where SNL is filmed, 30 Rockefeller Center, to see him in person, but Davidson asked security to prevent her from coming upstairs.

Among those individuals who also took the initiative to look out for Davidson's well-being was his Big Time Adolescence co-star Machine Gun Kelly, who posted on Twitter that he was immediately boarding a plane to New York City to see him in person.

When TMZ asked Kelly for a comment on Davidson's situation, MGK simply responded, "It's just a weird time for us all right now."

Page Six also reports that there hasn't been any discussions about Davidson taking a leave of absence. He's expected to return to SNL when the season picks back up next year.
