As 2018 creeps to an end, we inch closer and closer to the final season of Game of Thrones. While fans are anxiously awaiting a real trailer, HBO decided to tease everyone with a highlight reel of some of the show's biggest battles and betrayals.

Take a peek at the teaser below. Season 8 of GoT officially comes out April 2019.

Every battle.
Every betrayal.
Every risk.
Every fight.
Every sacrifice.
Every death.

The cut is certainly nostalgic. It provides a glimpse of fallen heroes from past seasons (RIP Robb Stark), and the sacrifices they made in their quest for the crown. We even get to see Joffrey choke to death again—what a simpler time!

The teaser is also a refresher on what the battle scenes looked like in earlier seasons. Most of the spoilers for the last season have been centered around the epic battle between the living and the dead that took months to shoot, and is “expected to be the most sustained action sequence ever made for television or film.”

At the end of the teaser we hear Jon Snow say, "There is only one war that matters and it is here," while staring down the Night King. It may not be a trailer, but it does reinforce that this final season is less about the throne, the Starks vs. Lannisters, or Khaleesi and her dragons, but about the epic battle of all of Westeros to survive.
