Kim Kardashian joined Alec Baldwin on the second episode of his new talk show to dish about Kanye West, Caitlyn Jenner, and her changing approach to fame.

During the show, which aired Sunday night, Kim revealed that even though she disagrees with some of 'Ye’s political views, she doesn’t think Alice Marie Johnson could have been released from prison without her husband’s public support of Donald Trump.

“She always says, if it wasn’t for Kanye speaking up in support of Trump, then she would still be in jail,” Kim said, referring to Johnson, after Baldwin pressed the reality star about her husband’s political views.

For those who don’t remember, Kim met with Trump earlier this year to seek clemency for Johnson, who was serving a life sentence, without the chance for parole, for a first-time, non-violent drug offense. Kim used the new interview to bring up other cases she’s currently focused on and her passion for criminal justice reform.

“The bigger goal is to get these bills passed that really change the laws,” she said, according to The Daily Beast, explaining, “I basically have a team of attorneys...I fund cases that I’m really passionate about.”

But the beauty mogul doesn’t see her husband’s support of Trump or other controversial politics as a road block to her goals. “I grew up in a household where Bruce, who was my stepdad, had one political view and maybe my real dad had a different political view, or my mom, and we would just always talk about it and be really open about it, and it was always OK to have different views,” she explained. “I let him [Kanye] have his own views and opinions even if they’re different than mine.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the topic of Kim’s own freedom, independence, and shifting relationship with fame came up. “I think being with a man like Kanye, you have to learn how to be a little bit not-so-independent,” the 38-year-old said. “I’ve always been so independent, and working, and [had a] schedule, and when you get married and have a husband with a career and kids, your independence...you have to let it go. I had to learn that being with a man like Kanye.”

Since being with Kanye, Kim revealed her appetite for fame waned, especially following her robbery in Paris. “We’d get our hair and makeup done filming...When we’d be done I was like, ‘What is the hottest restaurant Hollywood? Where can I go? Where can I be seen?’” she said referring to the early days of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “It started with Kanye...everything had to be public for me back then. And so I had to kind of flip it. Now, on my time off, I’m like, ‘Where are the locations that I can go eat, go on vacation, where no one will see us?’ All I want it is privacy.”

Baldwin doesn’t fail to be his typically problematic self in this interview, making a point to note how “masculine” Caitlyn Jenner seemed to him ahead of her transition. Kim followed that gross comment up with a contradictory anecdote from when she was 25, before saying she simply wishes for her former stepfather to be happy.
