Chicago is joined by the Kardashian-Wests' other children, North and Saint. In a post announcing Chicago's birth earlier this week, Kardashian thanked their surrogate and the "wonderful" team of doctors and nurses. "Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl," she said. "We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister."

Khloé Kardashian, who's currently pregnant with her and Tristan Thompson's first child together, confirmed she's a big fan of the name shortly after Kim’s announcement:

If you're reading this article right now and are unsure of the significance of Chicago for West, then I feel sorry for you and your artless life. Chicago, of course, is where West was raised after moving at a young age from Atlanta with his mother, the late Donda West. Donda served as the Chair of the English Department at Chicago State University, where Kanye briefly studied before living out the title of his critically acclaimed debut album The College Dropout.

West's Chris Martin-featuring Graduation cut "Homecoming," released as a single in 2008, is a tribute to the city of Chicago:
