Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai has annoucned that a new Smash Bros. fighter will be announced Monday. Sakurai took to Miiverse on the Wii U earlier this week to make the surprise announcement for Nintendo's upcoming Wii U/3DS fighter, saying that the company would be livestreaming the event (and presumably gameplay) on the Super Smash Bros. website rather than through a Nintendo Direct video.

The announcement will take place Monday at 7 AM PST, so if you happen to be sleeping in you'll have a nice surprise to wake up to. Start placing your bets on what obscure Nintendo character it could be now – maybe someone from Advance Wars? Or the gator from Revenge of the 'Gator? Perhaps Kid Dracula? (hint: it probably won't be Kid Dracula.)

In any case, we'll find out more soon. Smash Bros. is out for 3DS in October, sometime in Winter for Wii U.
