1.
Interesting week, this one. We’re seeing the likes of DJ Sliink getting major label looks, while Diplo and A-Trak are just like “here, take a bunch of free material.” Mixes to make you dance, grooves to make you think (and feel) – if you think EDM is just one-note, you’ve not been paying attention. Here are this week’s finest.
Diplo’s 1 Million Bootleg Pack
Diplo celebrated hitting one million Facebook likes with this bootleg pack containing nine tracks, with collabs from some of the dance music scene’s brightest (including ETC!ETC!, Ape Drums, Grandtheft, and many more). Oh, and they’re all free.
Low Pros – EP1
Keeping things fresh and free is the release of A-Trak and Lex Luger’s Low Pros project; EP1 features appearances from Young Thug, Travi$ Scott, Juvenile, and many others. Proper turn up music.
Trey Songz – “Na Na (DJ Sliink Remix)”
This was a big week for DJ Sliink, who announced two official remixes. The first is part of Atlantic’s dance music remixes for Trey Songz’ “Na Na.” That Jersey club on that R&B is so necessary.
Chromeo – “Jealous (DJ Sliink x Big O Remix)”
Oh yeah, DJ Sliink and DJ Big O also got official remix work on Chromeo’s “Jealous” before the release of White Women.
Kill The Zo – “Part I”
What’s the best way to celebrate the beginning of your tour? By collaborating on a track. Mat Zo and Kill The Noise kicked off their “Kill The Zo” tour this week, and posted this fierce drum & bass-leaning bit.
TWRK, Volume Four (Diplo & Friends Edition)
TWRK has posted their fourth mix, which premiered on Diplo & Friends and is chock full of that firey 100BPM bounce music.
Classixx – “A Stranger Love (Salva Remix)”
Salva’s been on one for a bit; this remix finds him in a chiller mode, but it still bangs.

DJ Manny – “Sunshine”
Rashad being gone doesn’t mean the TEKLIFE crew is finished; DJ Manny is set to drop his Tek Files, Vol. 1 album soon, and gave away this cover of a Roy Ayers classic.
Traxman – Tha Best To Do It, Vol. 1
And while we’re on the subject of DJ Rashad, here’s Traxman in the mix, dropping nothing but Rashad cuts for almost 30 minutes.
Illangelo ft. Phlo Finister – “Clockwork”
Bromance is rearing up guys like Illangelo, who is churning out some brilliant “future R&B.”
Stray on Solid Steel (May 9, 2014)
Stray is truthfully one of my favorite producers, operating in a weird space where dnb, footwork, and hip-hop meet. He went in the mix on the long-standing future-oriented Solid Steel program, dropping beats from a wide range of areas.
Mr. Carmack & Ta-Ku – “Miss You Most (At Night)”
We’re rolling credits this week with a beautiful collab between Carmack and Ta-Ku. If you’re missing someone, this is all you.
