By now, Rihanna diehards know she’s a tease.

In a new trailer for the Super Bowl LVII, RiRi acknowledges her fans’ appeals for a new record—and she has a little fun with it. The beginning of the video sees the singer step out onto a walkway as voices in the background comment on how long it’s been since she’s shared her own music.

“It’s been two thousand hundred and ninety days,” one voice says, while another remarks, “Rihanna, we’ve waited for you,” and “Rihanna is who everybody is waiting for.” The voices then all coalesce into a jumble before Rihanna places her finger on her lips to shush the noise. Her 2016 Anti album cut “Needed Me” then plays: “You needed me,” she sings. Well, duh.

While we have yet to see a full-length from her since Anti, she did bless PartyNextDoor with a feature in 2020 for his song “PartyMobile” and in 2022, she shared the song “Lift Me Up” from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.

In advance of the Super Bowl, the 34-year-old singer also dropped a Savage X Fenty Game Day collection, which includes jerseys, hoodies, and beanies. There’s also a t-shirt commemorating Rihanna’s appearance at the major event, which reads,  “Rihanna concert interrupted by a football game, weird but whatever,” and features a photo of Rihanna wearing a football helmet on the inside of the shirt.
