Future might be crowned the “toxic king” by many of his fans, but he’s reiterated that he would eventually like to settle down.

Earlier this year the I Never Liked You rapper said that he was eager to have more kids when he gets married, and in a new cover feature with Billboard, he’s provided a little more context on his hopes of tying the knot. “If I was married, at home with my kids, man, it’d be way different. That’s a life I never lived,” he said when asked what fatherhood would look like for him if he settled down. “It’s something you dream about. That’s one of my dreams.”

While Future has a desire to tie the knot at some point, it’s not something he’s rushing towards because of the nature of his fast-paced lifestyle. “It’s easy for other people, but for me, it’s just like, man, this rock star lifestyle, it don’t gel well. For even creating music, I just feel like I’m missing out on something if I don’t make the music a certain kind of way,” he continued. “I really dedicated my entire life to my fans. I dedicated my entire life to my music. Everything that I love, everything that I got, I put it in music. And the outcome is yet to be determined, still to this day.”

The 38-year-old father of eight was asked if he thinks there’s room to have both a successful career and a successful marriage, and he replied that he feels as though it’s possible for him to have both. However, he’s not quite ready for it just yet, and it isn’t anything that he’s “really chasing” at this point in time.

“I do dream of it, and I do want it,” Future explained. “I swear I’d probably pick the wrong girl or something, if I was just chasing it. You never know how certain things happen with relationships and with love and getting married and being under the same roof as your kids and you got other kids that are not living with you. That’s just a whole ’nother lifestyle that I haven’t even got a chance to live. But I understand that it’s something I would love, and when the time presents itself, then I know I’m going to be prepared. I want to make sure I just live that to the fullest. But I don’t really think about that shit, like having a wife and shit. But I want a wife. Everybody around me wants me to have a wife more than I want a wife.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Future briefly touched on his next studio album, which will be his tenth overall. He didn’t offer much in the way of hints, but he did say his main focus is to “just do something I never done,” which includes becoming a billionaire.

“A lot of money. That’s a lot of damn money,” he said. “My main focus right now is just to do something I never done. One thing I never done is make a billion dollars. I ain’t done that, so I’m focused on that.”
