Following the release of I Never Liked You, Future has shared the video for “Wait for U” featuring Drake and Tems.
Directed by Director X, the visual depicts a fantasy tale of love and betrayal entitled, “The Tale of the Toxic King.” Future’s love interest writes him a note that reads, “I doth findeth it funny,” while Drizzy stars as a knight in shining armor who saves his love from captors. Complete with elaborate sets and multiple sword battles, the video wraps with Future sending a note of his own. “I am goodeth beloved,” his note reads. “Enjoyeth.”
Also starring in the video is singer-songwriter Moxie Raia, model Cece Rose, producer ATL Jacob, rapper Strick, and comedian Trey Richards.
The “Wait for U” video comes not long after Future dropped the deluxe edition of I Never Liked You, which added six additional tracks to the record. The newly added songs include features from Lil Baby, BabyFace Ray, 42 Dugg, Lil Durk, and Young Scooter. Additionally, Future shared some Donda-designed merch, including multiple hoodies and an eye mask.
Shortly after the album arrived, Hits Daily Double projected that it would debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart with 175,000-200,000 units, making it the biggest debut of the year. It’s already proved to be a massive hit not only stateside, but worldwide too. It hit No. 1 on the Apple Music charts in nearly 60 countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.
