In an interview on The Breakfast Club, rapper and YouTuber DDG opened up about his relationship with Halle Bailey.

At around the five-minute mark of the interview, DDG described himself as a “ladies man” when growing up, but joked he’s “married” now. He clarified that he’s not actually married to Halle, and said that “eventually” he would like to tie the knot.

“I’ve never been with nobody that’s like really motivated me like she do,” he said. “I’m seeing different shit. I ain’t really been around this type of shit before, so it’s like, she’s bringing me around shit that I ain’t really—you know what I’m saying? ‘Oh, this is crazy. This is dope.’ You know what I mean? This is somebody that’s really like … I was my own person before her, but in a way, put me on to different shit. That’s dope because I’m usually the one putting motherfuckers on.”

Asked what type of things she’s put him on to, he said, “Fashion shows and nice ass parties with legends and all that shit.” Charlamagne noted that they were spotted at the Wearable Art Gala recently, to which DDG added, “Yeah I ain’t even know it existed… I’m not in that world. I ain’t know what that was, and I was like, ‘Man, what the fuck? Tyler Perry right next to me, the fuck is going [on]?”

Asked how the two of them met, he revealed that he “slid in her DMs,” which he described as “regular shit.” He said she posted a 50 Cent song on social media, and he simply replied to share that he was a fan of the track too. “’Many Men,’ that’s one of my favorite songs,’” he said. Charlamagne asked once again if he was really planning to “propose” to Halle, and DDG said, “I don’t know, eventually, man.”

The couple confirmed they were in a relationship earlier this year after months of romance rumors. In a recent interview with Bootleg Kev, he defended his girlfriend after she received online abuse after she was announced as the lead in Disney’s The Little Mermaid remake.
