Wu-Tang: An America Saga, Hulu's drama series created and penned by Alex Tse and The RZA, unleashed a new trailer Friday.

The series, based on both The Wu-Tang Manual and Tao of Wu, is set in early '90s New York against the backdrop of the crack-cocaine epidemic and retells the beloved story of the iconic group's formation.

"I'm delighted to be partnering with Hulu and Imagine to explore the vast story of the Wuniverse," RZA said back in October when announcing the project's straight-to-series order. "Wu-Tang through our music has always strove to inspire as we entertain. This opportunity to continue the Wu – Saga in a 10-episode series will exponentially increase our inspirational style of entertainment. In the immortal words of ODB, 'Wu-Tang is for the Children.'"

In his own statement at the time, Method Man—who is credited as an executive producer on the project—said the series marks a victory for hip-hop at large.

"Imagine, Hulu, and Wu-Tang—I'm thrilled with this collaboration," he said. "This is a major win for hip hop."

The series will debut Sept. 4 with a trio of inaugural episodes, followed by a weekly single-episode drop every Wednesday for the duration of the first season. Ashton Sanders, Dave East, Erika Alexander, Shameik Moore, Marcus Callender, Julian Elijah Martinez, Siddiq Saunderson, Zolee Griggs, TJ Atoms, and Johnell Young are among the Imagine-backed series' cast.
